You see things; and you say ‘Why?’

But I dream things that never were; and I say ‘Why not?’

George Bernard Shaw

My name is Maja Jędrzejczak, although, because my surname is unpronounceable to most foreigners, I am simply known as Maja Perché No! This phrase carries a special meaning for me because it represents my life philosophy.

“Perché No!” – “Why not!”

No question mark, just exclamation!

After working for 10 years in the marketing field in Warsaw, 5 years of which I managed my own agency, I got to the point where I didn’t want to have “she kept the deadlines, but had no passion” written on my grave.  Around that time I started to seriously reassess my future and little did I know that the turning point was near.

I still remember the evening when for the first time I tried Barolo of Aurelio Settimo.  Elegance, complexity and wonderful tannins of this traditional Barolo opened a new world for me.  I have never tasted anything like that and right then and there I knew my life would never be the same.  I felt rejuvenated and inspired and I immediately had to visit Barolo to learn for myself what it was all about.

My experience visiting the region was so transformative that in January 2014 I made a fateful decision to move to La Morra.  In February I was already living in a cozy apartment having set up my brand “Perché No!”

In the years that followed I have graduated from AIS (Associazione Italiana Sommelier) sommelier school in Turin and became a proud member of “The Order of the Knights of the Truffle and the Wines of Alba”

I have had a chance to learn a lot about the Piedmontese wine directly from the producers I closely work with.  I find it immensely rewarding witnessing hard work that is put into wine making and experiencing true expression of the terroir in the final product.

Although my focus is on traditional producers, I have a lot of respect for modern producers who let Barolo become more recognizable and appreciated all over the world.

I have amassed considerable background in marketing by working with large multinational companies and attained valuable experience in the wine industry working as a brand ambassador.

My knowledge has been broadened by the abundant discovery of the wines in the region as well as extensive wine tastings and marketing trips in Italy and abroad.

Constant interaction with local winemakers provides me with ample opportunities to engage in my passion.  I have always wanted to share my knowledge and experience with others and setting up a consultancy for winemakers, retailers and individuals is a perfect way for me to do that.

Langhe is a great place for discovering some of the best wines in the world. I hope my services will bring you a fulfilling experience and I would be happy to share my knowledge with you.
